Después de una larga ausencia, hoy os presento un proyecto
muy especial. Hace ya un tiempo, Katia de The Indie Cub se puso en contacto
conmigo para presentarme su línea de patrones y kits de costura, y me propuso
probarlos. Por supuesto, acepté encantada porque me gustó muchísimo su estilo:
el corte de las prendas, las telas que tiene… Y, sobre todo, me fascinó la idea
de un kit con todo incluido. ¡Me pareció comodísimo! Elegí la Blusa Julia y una
tela de doble gasa, de tonos nude muy suaves, preciosa…

After a
long absence, today I’d like to sow you a very special project. A while ago,
Katia from The Indie Cub asked if I wanted to try one of her lovely kits. Of
course, I accepted gladly. I love her patterns, the fabrics she offers, the
style of the clothes… And, above all, I was fascinated by the idea of a sewing
kit that includes all the necessary material. It really makes things so easy! I
chose the Julia Blouse and a beautiful, soft, double gaze fabric in nude color…

Una magnífica caja de regalo preparada con todo detalle.
A fantastic
gift box prepared to the smallest detail.
Dentro encontré todo lo necesario para coser: patrón,
instrucciones, tela, hilo a juego, goma y unos botones ideales. Me enamoré al
instante. Creo que yo misma no habría podido elegir mejor el hilo y los
botones.
Inside, I
found everything I needed to sew the blouse: The pattern, instructions, fabric,
assorted thread, elastic and some perfect buttons. I was thrilled instantly. I
wouldn’t have chosen a better match myself.
El patrón me gustó mucho por su sencillez y, sobre todo,
porque el papel es grueso, de gran calidad, y las líneas se ven muy claramente.
Aguantará el paso del tiempo sin problema.
I liked the
pattern very much because of its simplicity and, above all, because of the
quality of the paper. It’s pretty thick and lines of different sizes are
clearly distinguishable. No doubt it will hold up over time.
Las instrucciones incluyen fotografías en color, son
detalladas y amenas. Todo viene dentro de una carpeta muy práctica para
guardarlo bien protegido.
Instructions
include color photos, are detailed and easy to follow. The come inside a very
practical folder where you can keep everything protected.
La camisa es de manga larga y lleva gomas a modo de puño. Yo
acorté las mangas para poder usarla en verano y el resultado me gustó
muchísimo.
The blouse
has long sleeves with elastics at the cuffs. I shortened the sleeves because I
wanted to use it in summer and I was very glad with the result.
Es una camisa raglán y se abre por una de las uniones
laterales. La doble gasa es una tela formada por dos capas de tejido que son de
diferente color por cada lado. Decidí aprovechar la ocasión y usar la parte
clara para el bies creando así un ligero contraste. Con telas más finas, yo
pondría una entretela en la abertura para que el tejido resista bien la
colocación de los ojales y botones (esto no viene indicado en las
instrucciones).
It’s a
raglan blouse and it opens thanks to a few buttons placed on one of the seams. Double
gaze is a fabric composed of two layers and each side has different colors. I
decided to take advantage of this and used the clearest side for the bias,
creating some contrast. If I were to use thinner fabrics I would add an
interface to the opening, so it will hold the buttons properly (not included in
the instructions).
Hice una talla 6 para mi hija de 6 años. Me pareció un poco
justa de cuello y alargué un poco el bies. Os recomiendo que comprobéis bien
las medidas del cuello con vuestras niñas antes de cortar el patrón, por si
acaso.
I made a
size 6 for my 6 year old daughter. I realized the neck was too small for her so
I made a longer bias to compensate. I suggest you to have a close look at the
size of your girls’ necks and check with the bias size before you cut the
pattern, just in case.
El patrón incluye un bolsillo opcional. Yo lo hice con el
lado claro de la tela, de nuevo en contraste, y lo coloqué a un lado.
The blouse
includes an optional pocket. Again, I made it with clear side of the fabric to
create some more contrast.
El resultado es una camisa dulce, cómoda, fácil de combinar
y de coser. Dan ganas de hacerla con 1000 tejidos diferentes, alargarle las
mangas, convertirla en vestido… Es de esos patrones que dan mucho juego.
The result
is a sweet, comfortable blouse, ease to sew and wear. I feel like sewing it in
hundreds of different fabrics, lengthen the sleeves, make a dress… So many possibilities!
